Help, Gratitude and Expiry

There is expiry for everything in this universe even for help. One evening my friend in his booze said that he helped some of his friends in their needs but later they didn’t realize and showed no gratitude.

I believe there would be an effect on any action and the effect lasts for some time. The help we do creates an effect on the people and that effect will fade out slowly as time passes. Let’s say if you helped a friend and in case if you found a need from him and if you ask him in a week or a month, he will try to help but if you ask him after an year, then he may not put the same effort because the effect (help) you created fades out.

Most people do help out of emotions initially with no expectations but later expectations may rise. when you realize that you expect returns then get it soon because people forget eventually. Don’t expect the people should always show gratitude because if the gratitude is expected then it becomes ‘expected’ help. Very few people remember your effect and give back on their own.

I believe there is nothing wrong either we expect or the people forgets our help because both expectations and forgetfulness exist in humans and are the characteristics by nature.  The only exception to this when people do a mass help like during natural calamities, donations etc because we don’t identify the specific people to whom we did the help.
